FAN MERCH POLICY
📋 Policy as of May 2026: 📋
(Please note that this may change over time)
Our games are still in development and we will look to produce official merch closer to / post release!
Our current position is that we have no problem with people making small runs of hand-made fan merch based on our games for the purpose of sharing with friends / fellow fans and to sell at local conventions.
EXAMPLES OF THINGS YOU CAN DO:
Limited runs of: Prints, charms, buttons, keychains, stickers, etc.
Zines / fanbooks / doujinshi / comics.
Handmade plush / handmade clothing or accessories.
THERE’S SOME RESTRICTIONS (you know how it is):
No mass produced t-shirts / apparel / clothing, machine-made figures or machine-made plushes.*
Do not sell merch via print on demand websites (e.g. Redbubble, zazzle).
Do not feed official art into generative AI tools or use generative AI to produce fan content or merch! 🤮
Do not reproduce official art or assets (don't rip the character sprites out of the game files to use for merch).
No crowd funding campaigns to produce merch (e.g. Kickstarter, Indiegogo).
You cannot use the official SHELFLIFE: ART SCHOOL DETECTIVE, SMALL TOWN EMO or FNIFE GAMES logos.
*It's fine to use small scale / personal use sewing machines or 3D printers, these are still considered hand-made.
OTHER THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
It’s generally okay to create one-off art commissions featuring characters / locations from our game.
You can use screenshots, clips and art assets from the game to make fan content for social media posts. However please link back to our project / do not claim these as your own work.
